...the view behind me at my office - my partner, my business consultant, my mentor, my husband, my best friend: Ben. Love you, love.


...my two sweet growing children. It is a wonderful honor to be your mother, and you both amaze me with your sensitivity and senses of humor, and keen observations about the world. My life is better with you both in it.

Thank you, C family, for being so adorable and fun! I'd happily spend any sunny autumn afternoon with these ham-it-up children and watch them run race after race, take jumping breaks, blow millions of bubbles, and him take that big 6 year-old arm and wrap it around his little sister.

A Journal of November 3, 2011: In Pictures

I'm 2 but I'll never admit it.

Drew is going through a phase where nothing is ever quite right in her little 2-year-old world. She whines that she's hungry while she's still eating. If we're going to the park she wants to be home. If it's a school day, she wants to be in "gymnastics cwass". Last night, she said her knee hurt and though there were no bumps, bruises or scrapes, nothing would do but a band-aid.



So I did what any mommy does who just wants their child to feel better, I put on a band-aid. These things have magical powers, I tell you. The second I put it on, she felt better.... for about 3 seconds. Then she ripped it off and put it on the other knee.

Angie and Jason first met in preschool, but they don't remember. They know this because they are in their class picture together. They grew up in the same small town and when they grew up and moved away, they even lived blocks from one another more on more than one occasion. Life tried over and over to help bring these two into each other's lives. Finally, in August, they came together in marriage -- beautifully!

















It was a true pleasure to be a part of their day and see the love this new family shares!
